Danielle Rowley MP, 28, was born and raised in Midlothian and lives in Dalkeith, where she attended Dalkeith High School. She went on study Journalism at Edinburgh Napier University, gaining a first class degree. During her time at university she undertook work with the Midlothian Advertiser, Radio Forth, STV and the Daily Record.
Since graduating in 2014 Danielle has held a range of positions, including working as Gordon Brown’s Constituency Media Manager during the Scottish Independence Referendum, and various positions within the voluntary sector. Before her election to parliament in the 2017 General election, Danielle worked for a national housing charity.
Danielle is a dedicated champion of Midlothian, as a young person she represented the area on the Scottish Youth Parliament. Through a range of voluntary roles, including three years at Black Diamond FM and many years helping organise the Dalkeith Festival, Danielle supports her local community and is extremely proud to stand to represent her home.
