Danielle Rowley MP met with pupils and staff at Penicuik High School last week. The visit was part of a series of planned visits to schools in Midlothian and an opportunity for the MP to see what young people in Penicuik are learning about as well as offering her support.
On her visit Danielle took part in a Q and A with pupils and afterwards was given a tour around the school by the pupils. After her tour she met with staff to discuss how the school is performing and projects they aim to deliver over the current term.
Danielle Rowley MP said,
“I thoroughly enjoyed meeting with the pupils from Penicuik High School. Their interest and knowledge of the workings of Parliament was impressive and their questions to me were intelligent and thought provoking.
I was especially pleased to hear about the schools focus on mental health and positivity.
Thank you to everyone involved with Penicuik school for making me feel so welcome but more importantly for creating an inclusive and encouraging learning environment for all the pupils at the school.
