Local MP meets with Lasswade High School Pupils

Danielle Rowley MP week met with Lasswade High School students last week.  The pupils who are sitting national 5’s in Modern Studies heard from Danielle about what it is like to be an MP and took part in a Question and Answer session with her.

Danielle Rowley MP said,

“I thoroughly enjoyed meeting with the students from Lasswade High School. Their knowledge of the Parliament was impressive and their questions to me were intelligent and thought provoking.

I was especially pleased that when asked if they backed lowering the voting age to 16 the majority of the room supported it. I look forward to reflecting their views when Parliament debates votes for 16 and 17 year olds this week.

The students were a credit to themselves and their school and I am sure that they will do well in their Modern Studies exams.”
