MP Highlights Real Cost of Universal Credit

Danielle Rowley MP highlighted the real cost of Universal Credit at Scottish Labour Conference in Dundee on Friday 8th March.

Ms. Rowley led a session on the main stage of conference dedicated to the topic, speaking on the work that UK Labour have carried out to hold the government to account on Universal Credit; and her own role in highlighting split payments and deflection scripts used on the UC helpline.

A panel discussion followed Ms Rowley’s speech, where she was joined by Kay Sillars from Unison Scotland, Scottish Labour spokesperson on Social Security Mark Griffin MSP, and Gorebridge resident Kelly Drummond who is currently in receipt of Universal Credit.
