Rowley Holds Debate on Universal Credit

Danielle Rowley MP held a debate this week on Universal Credit, it’s helpline and how it is failing people in Midlothian and across the UK.

Ms. Rowley highlighted a constituent’s case, where they believe they wouldn’t have gotten a result without the involvement of Danielle’s office.

Danielle Rowley MP said:

“I held this debate to highlight that people – often in critical and difficult situations – are struggling on Universal Credit, and we have evidence of people being turned away from the ‘helpline’.

“Despite the evidence I uncovered, the Government refuses to acknowledge this or apologise to those who are suffering under the cruel Tory system.

“The Government must stop failing our most vulnerable people now.”
